BoSoma Dance Company celebrates their 15th Anniversary Season with classic repertory as well as the debut of Katherine Hooper’s newest work, Tapestry. Experience the adrenaline infused and emotionally charged choreography brought to life by the company’s fiercely talented dancers.
Twenty one years ago, as an emerging choreographer, Hooper’s piece, Tapestry, was recognized for its spatial design, intricate patterns, and sequence of dynamic and athletic movement, which today remains the signature of BoSoma. This season, in collaboration with local North Shore costume designer, Jennifer Greeke, BDC will revive the concept of Hooper’s work for stage with new, fresh movement, music and costuming. Piece by piece, layer by layer, the dancers and costumes will bring a tapestry of life to the stage, adding to the excitement of the piece.
In addition to showcasing this exciting new work, the company will bring back to the stage pieces from their 15 year repertory, including Hooper’s NYC debut piece Amygdala (2001), Boxed (2005) by co-founder Irada Djelassi, as well as crowd favorites Regret (2015) and Convergence (2016) which takes the dancers and audience on a journey towards collective change.
