Massachusetts
Phoebe Burden began her training in West Boylston, Massachusetts, at Diane Kelley Dance Studio, where she is also teaching young dancers from 3 to 18 years old. Her home studio is where she learned various dance styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary, and she will always be grateful for the open and supportive space Diane Kelley created for her as a young dancer. She continued her training at Purchase College, SUNY in New York, where she received a BFA in dance performance in 2022. Her time spent at SUNY Purchase prepared her to be skilled in many techniques of dance like classical ballet/partnering, Graham, Cunningham, and Lìmon. She also found a passion in different contemporary forms like contact improvisation taught by Bradley Teal Ellis, modern partnering, and floor work under Jason Reese Cianciulli (Vim Vigor). Phoebe has studied under talented choreographers and dance artists like Andrea Miller, Peter Chu, Martin Løfsnes, Stephanie Tooman, Doug Varone, and Annie Rigney. Phoebe has attended several summer programs like SITE 1 and 2 with GALLIM and Boston Dance Theatre's Summer Immersion Project. She is currently enrolled in a 500-hour Pilates teacher training program to receive her certificate as a Pilates teacher. She is excited to continue her artistic development and grow her versatility as a dancer in the future. Phoebe is thrilled to continue dancing with BoSoma this season.
